How do Peels work?

We tailor each treatment to your individual skin goals and customise your peel to target single or combinations of concerns. Each peel varies in chemical potency (e.g. AHA 60% ) to allow your skin to gradually adapt to higher concentration over time. The medical-grade ingredients provide a gradual approach to progressively addressing your skin over a course of 3-6 peels, with 2-4 weeks apart. After your course of peels, we recommend maintenance treatments to every month, or every 2-3 months depending on your skin. AHA and BHAchemical peels act to “unglue” the bonds holding double dead skin cells on the skin’ssurface. Once the bonds are progressively broken down, the skin begins to naturally peel and shed.

Requirements

You should prep for your skin by commencing a medical grade skincare routine at least 1-2 weeks prior to your treatment. This will optimise your results as these products will assist with your outcomes of each treatment, by assisting the peel’s ability to penetrate through the skin. We do not recommend medical grade peels for those: pregnant/breastfeeding, open wounds on the face, infections, psoriasis, dermatitis. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding suitability.

What is Lactic Acid Peel (AHA) & Benefits

Lactic Acid Peels (also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is a water-soluble chemical, which binds to water and draws up hydration to the skin.

AHA exfoliates and breaks down the skin cells on the surface of the skin and build collagen within the stratum corneum to epidermis.

We recommend you to progressively increase AHA chemical potency due to the pH levels in the skin and depth in the skin each percentage reaches (e.g. start with 20% lactic acid peel).

This peel can cause sense sensitivity, whereby it is vital for you to use SPF 50+ in between treatments. These peels are a suitable option if you are seeking treatment to retexturise your skin, improve the appearance of pigmentation and improve hydrating properties to maintain moisture levels in the skin.

Lactic Acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) peels are best suited for:

• Hyperpigmentation
• Dehydration
• Dullness
• Fine Lines
• Overall Skin Rejuvenation
• Sun Damage
• Skin Texture & Tone
• Dry/Flakey Skin
• Blemishes
• Dark Pigment

What is Salicylic Acid Peel (BHA) & Benefits

Salicylic Acid Peels (also known as Beta Hydroxy Acid) is a oil-soluble chemical, which binds to lipids/oils in the skin and exfoliates within pores rather than above.

It cuts through pores to fight bacteria causing your skin’s breakouts, while also dissolving the overproduction of oils. salicylic acid peels have anti-inflammatory properties to calm irritated acne and reduce inflammation/redness.

It is important to maintain your recommended skincare routine as this chemical can cause dryness, which will mean it is vital to utilise hydrating and protective skincare.

We do recommend doing a course which alternates between the chemical peels, to maintain a healthy balance for your skin’s hydration.

Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid) peels are best suited for:

• Inflammation• Redness
• Oil Production• Acne
• Sun Damage
• Fine Lines
• Skin Texture & Tone
• Congestion
• Blackheads
